DJI has issued an update to the existing DJI Osmo (check out our DJI Osmo Review) with a new 3.5x optical and additional 2x digital zoom in 1080p. The Osmo+ also reduced the minimum focus distance from 1.5 meters to .5 meters. With the older Osmo, the fixed lens and focus point meant autofocus was not needed. Everything from 1.5m to infinity was perfectly in focus. With the newer Osmo+, focus points can be set by tapping on the screen. It remains to be seen how accurate things are but I am definitely looking forward to testing this. One of my issues with the Osmo was the 1.5m minimum focus distance making it almost worthless for the selfies and vlogging as advertised. Hopefully this new camera might be the perfect tool going forward. The new price is $650 which is about $80 more than the existing model.
