Android devices act as USB hosts!
Android devices will now be able to act as USB hosts! That means that a simple USB attachment to an Android Tablet will allow you to backup your photos straight from the camera. This feature is rolling out on the Motorola Zoom today and will be a part of any Tablet running Android 3.1 or later. This feature will be an easy method to backup and view your photos in the field without any secondary devices. Most tablet screens also offer great quality viewing at wide viewing angles and may be a great method to preview or show off your images quickly while on a photo shoot. As a USB host, tablets should also be able to read from external hard drives and use other peripheral devices such as a keyboard, mouse, or other controller.
