Yep, just had another baby boy. Figuring out what equipment to pack was a big production for me so I figured I'd give you the inside to what I took and why. Take a look at the full breakdown of all the gear as well as the video past the break.

Yep, just had another baby boy. Figuring out what equipment to pack was a big production for me so I figured I'd give you the inside to what I took and why. Take a look at the full breakdown of the gear below the video.

Here is a list of my gear and why I use it:

Canon 70D - One of the best video DSLRs on the market today. That may change with the GH4 but for the price and ease of use, it is a great way to go with excellent images and AF. As a bonus, it is a great still camera.

Canon 5D Mark III - Still the best all around DSLR with one of the best focus systems ever invented. It is fast, has a quiet mode which is a big plus, has great low light ability, great video, and dual card slots for backing up those memories.

Canon EOS M - While I'm a big fan of the Fuji mirrorless cameras and the Sony A7, nothing comes close to the EOS M in this price bracket. You can take a picture with the EOS M that will rival $3000 cameras.

Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC - Sure, the Canon 24-70 2.8 II is sharper, but the Tamron 24-70 still holds it's own and has a huge trick up it's sleeve. It is the ONLY 24-70 2.8 Pro lens with stabilization making it my go to video lens as well.

Sigma 35mm 1.4 - Super sharp and great build quality make this my go to 35mm lens. It was so good it prompted me to sell my Canon 35mm 1.4 to get the Sigma 35mm 1.4!

Canon 50mm 1.4 - While I can't wait to sell it for the new Sigma 50mm 1.4, this lens is a bang for the buck steal and produces a great image despite it's cheap price, old design, and more plastic build.

Canon 85mm 1.8 - Portrait dream lens. For under $400 no one will know you didn't use something that costs 3x more. Simply stunning results, decent build, for a cheap price.

Yongnuo YN-300 LED Light - Sure there is better but this one works perfectly for a fraction of the cost. With adjustable temperatures and intensities, this light hits the spot.
