Hasselblad X1D-50C Announced - A 50MP Medium Format Mirrorless Camera

Hasselblad has just reshaped the mirrorless camera landscape by launching a 50MP medium format mirrorless camera. The Hasselblad X1D-50C boasts a weather sealed body, dual SD card slots, USB 3.0 Type C, HDMI, WiFi/GPS, and a high resolution 2.36MP Electronic Viewfinder in a body less than have the weight of a traditional medium format camera. The X1D uses the X System Lens Range and Hasselblad is introducing 2 new lenses along with the new camera, a 90mm F3.2 and a 45mm F3.5 boasting a smaller design than typical MF lenses.

Of course, some of the typical drawbacks of these large sensor cameras will also be present and expect a capture rate of only 2 frames per second, a max shutter speed of 1/2000 sec, 1080p video at only 25fps, and a contrast only AF system that is not likely to perform as well as the systems used in most high end mirrorless cameras like the new Sony a6300. Also, don't expect this new camera to fit every budget with a starting price of $8,995. Either way this is an exciting new camera and I look forward to seeing more details as the Hasselblad X1D ships at the end of July.
