The Nikon D5 has officially been announced with availability beginning in March. The new D5 is being offered in two versions with either 2 CF card slots or 2 XQD type slots. The resolution has been upped to 20.82MP with continuous shooting of up to 200 frames (14 Bit Raw) at up to 12fps with AF tracking. Nikon is also offering increased control with 3 levels of RAW files going from 12 bit compressed to 14 bit uncompressed. 

Another big inclusion is 4k video which is the first for Nikon. But it is clear that Nikon is taking even more of a video emphasis with the inclusion of powered smooth aperture control and flat profiles for more control over the editing process. I'm definitely looking forward to checking the quality of this and also I'm curious if this will put pressure on Canon to produce more affordable options with 4k video.
