Nikon has just upgraded their entry level camera with the new Nikon D3400. While very similar to the D5300 it replaced, the new keeps the same amazing 24.2MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 4 processor, but adds SnapBridge Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC for easy sharing between your camera and mobile devices. SnapBridge uses Bluetooth low energy to allow automatic sharing of 2MP images between your camera and phone which is great for sharing images immediately with others.
The Nikon D5400 is available to purchase starting in mid September with preorders starting immediately. Pricing starts at $649 for the D5400 DSLR with 18-55mm Lens. Check out more details after the break.

The new SEL 50 F1.4 ZA offers 11 aperture blades with 9 groups and 12 elements and signals strong image quality. Unfortunately maximum magnification is only .15x and image stabilization will be left up to the camera body but this still signals a strong lens option in a popular focal length. In what has to be one of the coolest tools on the market today, Aputure has taken its original DEC adapter and made it better by integrating a .75x focal reducer in to the adapter for micro 4/3 cameras. This focal reducer provides an additional 1 stop advantage in light, shallower depth of field, and the reduction of focal length. The main feature of the DEC Lens adapter though is the ability to remotely focus and control aperture 2.4G wireless remote. The controller offers variable speed control for focus pulls up to 30 seconds, A-B control for perfect focus pulls between 2 set points, and even control of aperture and record directly from the remote. Canon has just announced the Canon ME200-SH Camera along side a new 18-80mm T4.4 Cine lens. The Canon ME200-SH brings a super 35mm CMOS sensor and dual pixel AF used in Canon's cinema cameras to modular body design. The camera itself is limited to 1080P at 60P video and will cost $4,999 when it arrives in August. It certainly seems like Canon is still attempting to separate their cinema camera line from traditional DSLRs and mirrorless options both in terms of price and video related features. I'm not sure how long that will last. The Compact-Servo 18-80mm T4.4 EF lens is also available for $5,225. In case you are interested, the Canon ME200-SH and 18-80mm T4.4 are available for preorder. More info on the way...so stay tuned for updates.
