Tascam has improved the original DR-60D with some brand new preamps for smother recording with lower noise and up to 64db of gain.
You can check out our review of the original Tascam DR-60D as well. It is still my recorder of choice although the battery life is an issue for me. However, the original DR-60D arrived with a $349 price tag and the new $199 starting price of the DR-60D MKII makes this an amazing deal for an awesome recorder. Check out more info after the break.

At last the 7D Mark II is here after years of waiting. So lets take a look at some of the new features & abilities and how they might help you. As an owner of the original 7D as well as the 70D and 5D Mark III, the new 7D Mark II brings many of the features of these other cameras to a new design. This could very well be the best camera available for wildlife and sports photographers.

Canon has just announced some new lenses to go with the 7D Mark II announcement.
First up is a Canon 24-105mm f3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. This will bring the STM (Silent AF & Aperture adjustments) to full frame cameras as well as APS-C cameras. The f3.5-f5.6 aperture though may discourage use of this lens for video (Canon should make a constant aperture STM lens) but it for now is the only STM lens available for full frame cameras. If you can live without the silent AF though, you may want to look at the Canon 24-105mm f4 IS or Sigma 24-105mm f4 OS.
The Canon 24-105mm f3.5-5.6 IS STM lens is available for $599

Next is the Canon 24mm f2.8 STM Pancake lens for APS-C cameras. This lens is similar to the 40mm f2.8 STM lens that Canon has had out for some time. With an equivalent focal length of 38mm on an APS-C camera, this lens is a great general purpose prime for the Canon SL1, T5i, and Canon 70D.
The Canon 24mm f2.8 lens is available for $149

The long awaited refresh to the popular Canon 7D is here and the 7D Mark II brings quite a long spec sheet to accompany some new technology. Featuring a new 20.2MP APS-C Dual Pixel Image Sensor, the 7D Mark II aims to bring better low light performance along with the fast Autofocus we have seen in live view and video modes on the Canon 70D. If that isn't enough, the 65pt All Cross Type focus system (the best I have seen) should make wildlife and sports photographers jump for joy. Paired with the dual Digic 6 processors that allow 10fps, 1080p video at 60fps, and a native ISO of up to 16,000, the new Canon 7D Mark II should turn some heads. The price is also way less than expected at $1,799
